SpineCor® Pain
Relief Back Brace provides postural rehabilitation
to change spinal shape and loading. It is
a neuro-muscular-skeletal rehabilitation
tool for treating abnormal
spinal loading and abnormal posture; it
is not a simple back support brace.
In
2005, Dr. Brian Ouellette, President of Scoliosis
Specialists, started experimenting with the
idea of a new scoliosis adult pelvic short
for the Spinecor Brace. There was
difficulty with the comfort, wearability
and materials. He contacted the President
of The Spine
Corporation, Andrew Mills, who helped to
complete the design of the new Spinecor Adult
Scoliosis
Brace.
During the 2-year development process, clinical
testing with the SpineCor® Pain Relief
Back Brace was performed on 200 patients.
Some of these patients reported pain relief
within hours of the first application. Of
all patients treated, 90% reported relief
within
6 weeks of use. The brace was launched in
April 2009 and has been used in many countries
throughout the World
Initially, the brace is worn 8-16 hours per
day in order to initiate postural changee.
After several months of wear, it is often
possible to reduce wearing time while maintaining
pain relief.
